EPISCEA COTTON CANDY

The group of plants in the Episcia tribe are marvelous greenhouse and house plants. They are commonly called Flame Violets. Unlike the regular violet, they are from the Amazon river basin and are thus very tropical. They cannot be grown in temperatures lower than 55 to 58 degrees. They will defoliate. We usually only ship them during the warmer months. Check our catalogue for current availabilty. Special ones may appear from time to time on our Internet Specialty Lists. Flowers are often red to pink or yellow to white. The color of the leaves is always astounding. Most of the hybrids are created to stress the leaf color and pattern. Flower color seems to be secondary in Episcia breeding.
