"One of my purposes in life is to respect and celebrate the temporal and spatial symbiotic relationship of living beings on earth. The interaction of lines, shapes, and forms in my sculpture symbolize the interdependence of life. I view wood, my medium, as symbolic of life itself. Whenever I work with wood I feel its radiating energy interacting with mine to recreate its shape. The rhythmic sound of my gouge and mallet -- TAP! TAP! TAP! -- is music to my soul." Mamerto Tindongan
